Starboard AC Series Built-in Data Protection
Protect from hardware component failure with a dual node storage solution including redundant CPU, memory, NICs, fans and power supplies.
Protect from disk failure with advanced data protection. The Starboard Dynamic Storage Pool™ virtualizes disk drives into a single storage pool and using parity-based-data protection, stripes data in small chunks across all disks in the system. This provides advanced protection from drive failures, including disk rebuilds that take up to 10 times less than the disk rebuild times of traditional storage systems.
Protect write cache with mirrored SSD. The SSD write cache is mirrored to ensure the integrity of data not yet written to disk.Protect the information in cache even on power down. The SSD cache for both reads and writes remains persistent on power down. This means the system does not have to rebuild the information in cache once power is reapplied.
Protect against system failure with built-in replication. Take scheduled snapshots and automatically replicate data incrementally to a Starboard AC Series system located at a remote site.
Backup and recover data using built-in snapshots. Starboard snapshots are high-performance, space efficient, redirect-on-write snapshots that require no reserved space. Snapshots can be easily promoted back to a full volume for instant recovery. Starboard snapshots also support consistency groups and application consistent snapshots (using VSS enabled backup software).
