Bill Chambers: Chief Executive Officer
Bill has more than 25 years experience in storage and business management and strategy leading both start-up and Fortune 100 companies. A visionary and successful entrepreneur, Bill was Founder, president and CEO at LeftHand Networks where he grew the company from $0 - $100M. LeftHand Networks was successfully sold to Hewlett Packard in November 2008 for $360M. Bill became vice president of HP StorageWorks, the new LeftHand product line of Hewlett Packard.
Tom Major: President
Tom joined Starboard from Seagate Technology, where he was Senior Vice President of Product Management and Business Operations. Before Seagate, Major worked at LeftHand Networks as Chief Strategy Officer reporting to Bill Chambers. Previous positions included Vice President and General Manager, Disk Business Unit, at StorageTek and Vice President of Network Storage Marketing at HP, where he spent 21 years.
Daryl Overholt: Chief Financial Officer
Daryl Overholt has over 20 years of financial management experience with companies ranging from venture backed start-ups to multinational corporations. Most recently Daryl held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Aztek Networks, which was successfully acquired in April 2012. Prior to Aztek Networks, Daryl held executive positions at Sequel Ventures Partners and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Kirill Malkin: Chief Technology Officer
Kirill is the chief architect of Starboard Storage Systems’ Application-Crafted Storage. Kirill has more than fifteen years of experience in the computer systems, data storage, networking technologies and enterprise software development industries. He was founder and CEO of Reliable Data Technology, Inc. from 1993 until 2005, when the company was acquired by RELDATA. Previously, Kirill held key development roles at Cantor Fitzgerald and Chase Manhattan Bank.
Larry Petkus: Vice President of Sales
Larry is a storage industry veteran with more than 30 years of sales experience. He was VP of sales for Compellent Inc. where he grew revenues in excess of $100M in five years. He led Dell's Global 500 Enterprise Storage Solutions sales efforts post merger and held executive sale management positions at Telstra, XIOtech and Anacomp. At Xiotech, Larry grew revenues 300% in two years. He has managed small and large sales organizations through out his successful sales career.
Lee Johns: Vice President of Marketing & Product Management
Lee has over 20 year experience in business and product management in the technology industry, where he has specialized in IT convergence. A native of the UK, Lee was previously Director of Product Marketing for Storage at Hewlett Packard (HP). In this role he was responsible for bringing to market the entire portfolio of HP storage products including HP 3PAR, LeftHand, EVA, MSA, IBRIX and StoreOnce deduplication. Lee has also held marketing director positions in server and software products including Compaq ProLiant Servers, HP BladeSystem and HP Systems Insight Manager.
Chris Alaimo: Vice President of Engineering
Chris has more than 20 years of experience in the high-tech industry. He joined Starboard from Tandberg Data, where he was Senior Director of Engineering. Alaimo was co-founder of ProStor Systems, which was acquired by Tandberg Data and Imation in 2011. Before ProStor, Alaimo held a senior management position at Quantum.
Pat Petroskey: Vice President of Customer Service
Pat joined Starboard from Oracle, where she managed a team of 385 global support engineers as Senior Director, Systems Technology Support Center, SAN/NAS, including the Oracle ZFS 7000 unified storage and Oracle Pillar SAN systems. Before Oracle, she held senior-level positions at Sun Microsystems and StorageTek. Her career also includes tenures at SGI and Honeywell.
